Nike with South African Football Association(SAFA) unveiled new South Africa Home and Away Shirts 2016 for South Africa national team. The team has a nickname “Bafana Bafana” and is controlled by the SAFA. Its greatest achievement was winning the Africa Cup of Nations at home in 1996. Steven Pienaar, a former South African professional footballer, earned 61 caps and scored three goals over the course of his international career. Pienaar participated at the 2002 and 2010 World Cups. Additionally, he plays for Sunderland Association Football Club now.
Danny Jordan is the president of the SAFA. He says:“We choose the appropriate time to publish South Africa Football Shirts, and have the confidence to become much stronger. Nike provides us with first-class equipment, and players can feel the power from the whole country when they put on the shirts.”
South Africa Home Shirt 2016 is yellow with a modern V-collar design. The King Protea badge on the left represents South Africa national team. The SAFA crest shows respect to the nation. Like other national teams’ jerseys, there is also a green stripe on both sides of the shirt in order to provide good air permeability for players in motion. Green shorts and yellow socks complete the new kit.
South Africa Away Shirt 2016 is green. Yellow shorts and green socks complete the away kit.
Yellow reminds us of the sun, and communicates happiness, hope and warmth. Green is associated with freshness, loyalty, and health. The collaboration of yellow and green shows players’ positive attitude toward different opponents and strong bodies.
